Madaline (Thompson) Edmondson, age 95, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at St. John’s Hospital in Cassville.
She was born July 14, 1912 in Cassville, the daughter of Charley and Anna (Henson) Thompson. On March 17, 1931 she was united in Marriage to Newman Edmondson, who preceded her in death on February 12, 1977. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Madaline was a lifelong resident of this area. She and Newman owned a small farm in the Mineral Springs area, where she lived until retirement and then moved to Cassville. She previously worked for Sanitary Market, Piggly Wiggly and Milgrams Grocery Stores in Cassville. She was a volunteer at the Cassville Senior Citizens Center as well as OATS. Her favorite pastime was piecing quilts, quilting and doing embroidery. She loved to quilt at the Senior Citizen’s Center with friends. Madaline made several beautiful quilts for her family over the years. She attended and graduated from Cassville Schools, and was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church in Cassville.
She is survived by one sister, Elsie Bowman of Cassville, Missouri; nieces and nephews, including her niece, Sue Mizer and her husband, Bob, of Cassville, her caregivers.; great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; great-great-great nieces and nephews; several cousins and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the White Funeral Home in Cassville, Missouri with Brother Wayne Betts and Reverend Doyle Russell officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. till service time on Monday, February 4th. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cassville, Missouri. Memorials my be made to the Cassville Senior Center or to OATS in memeory of Mrs. Edmondson, and may entrusted to the White Funeral Home in Cassville.
